In loving memory of James Erpelding (Dubuque, Iowa), who departed this world on January 1, 2025 at the age of 82. James leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Erpelding and Evelyn Erpelding (Steinman); his parents-in-law, Delmar and Elizabeth Dalsing; his brothers, Bob and Ray Erpelding; his siblings-in-law, Mike Turner, Stephen Pieper, Francis, Sharon Burd and Lisa Dalsing; and his nephew Damon Erpelding.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Dalsing of Asbury; his children, Jason Erpelding (Ann) of Cary, IL and Sarah Fern (Ben) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Alex, Kyle, Erin Erpelding, Evelyn, Micah, Emmett and Amelia Fern; his siblings, Carol Turner of Denver, CO, Dick Erpelding (Jean) of Bode, IA, Ken Erpelding (Connie) of Marion, IN, Don Erpelding (Jan) of Des Moines, IA, Jan Goche (Allen) of Humboldt, IA and Sandy Pieper of Fort Dodge, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Charlene Erpelding of Phoenix, AZ, Denni Erpelding of San Antonio, TX, Steve Dalsing (Mary) of Hazel Green, WI, Susan Placke (Dave) of Hazel Green, WI and Debbie Grice (Marshall) of Hanford, CA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory (3860 Asbury Rd, Dubuque, IA 52002). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (2001 St Joseph St, Dubuque, IA 52001).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Keep James "Jim"'s legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
