We are sad to announce that on August 3, 2023, at the age of 100, Gerda Chappell of Dubuque, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick William and Julia Hanselmann (Kintzinger); her husband Eugene H. Chappell; her siblings, Frieda Rudolph, Irma Cartigney, Julia Morgan, Elsbeth Williams, Gertrude Klinge, Herbert Hanselmann and Ralph Hanselmann; and her grandson Rigel David Soltwisch.
She is survived by: her children, Miriam J. Hoffman of Dubuque, Joan K. Soltwisch (David) of Minooka, IL and Timothy G. Chappell (Darla) of St. Donatus; her grandchildren, Ben, Adam Hoffman (Jessica), Rochelle Quiner (Mark), Juliene Soltwisch (John LoDolce) and Kurtis Chappell (Rachael); her great grandchildren, Madlin, Colin, Nathan, Audrey, Kolton, Cora, Liam, Annette, Juliet and Gene David; her great great grandchild Mila; her brother Roger Hanselmann of Dubuque; her sister-in-law Ann Hanselmann; and her caregivers, Sandra Sebek and Lydia Smith. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
