He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Motsch and Frances Motsch (Kriescher); his daughter Deb; his grandsons, Jason and Josh; his siblings, Herman Motsch (Ginny) and Mary (Arky); and his siblings-in-law, Ken, Cliff, Maynard, Merle, Eilene Weidenbacher and Edith Dieters.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Dieters of Mary's Catholic Church; his children, Vern Motsch of Dubuque, Dave Motsch of Sagle and Virge Engling (Mike) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Sheila, Andy, Emily and Carissa; his stepgrandsons, Trevor and Will; his great grandchildren, Haley, Trystin, Taiya, Rowan, Myla, Sophia and Maximus; his brother Ernie Motsch; and his siblings-in-law, Dale Dieters (Carol), Gene Weidenbacher and Mary Dieters (Trudy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a Eugene "Gene" A. Motsch Memorial Fund has been established.
