It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellen Leone Kennedy of Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack McDonald and Ella McDonald (Murray); and her siblings, Mary Ellen McNerney, Bill McDonald, Joe McDonald, Doris Drake, Dennis McDonald, James McDonald, Patricia Jorgensen, Rose Gelhaus and Francis McDonald.
She is survived by: her husband James Kennedy; her children, Dr. Sarah Roby (Andrew) of Winterset, IA, Dr. Susan Kennedy, Dr. Joseph Kennedy (Monica Straub) of Robins, IA, Daniel Kennedy (Ruth) of Marion, IA, James Jr. Kennedy (Carrie) of Dubuque and Michael Kennedy (Teresa) of Dubuque; her grandchildren, Catherine, Alex, Lauren, Jessica (Tim), Jack, Ellen, Sean (Maggie), Tom, Peter, Erica, Adam, Sam, Ella, Mya, Max, Nora and Frank; and her great grandchild Charlie.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Resurrection Church (4300 Asbury Rd, Dubuque, IA 52002).
