Earl F. Rettenmeier Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Earl F. Rettenmeier of Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away on May 18, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Rettenmeier and Alvina Rettenmeier (Meyer); his sister Janette Slattery; his parents-in-law, Dan and Viola Lex; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Rettenmeier, Rita Brimeyer, Gus Slattery, Jim Habel, Lyle Link, Jim Lex, Lavern Lex and Willie Brimeyer.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Lex of Dubuque; his children, Ruth Gallo of Dubuque, Nancy Pape (CJ) of Dubuque, Joe Rettenmeier (Lisa) of Dubuque and John Rettenmeier (Carrie Schmid) of Dubuque; his siblings, Howard Rettenmeier of Dyersville, Elaine Link of Dubuque and Mert Habel of Dubuque; his siblings-in-law, Allen, Mary Ann Lex, Bob, Carol and Janice Lex; and his caregiver Julie. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Hospice of Dubuque and Holy Spirit Parish.
