It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David J. Hastings Jr. of Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away on June 8, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of David J. Hastings Jr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Hastings; his siblings, Dean and Amy Scholtes; his nieces and nephews, Lee, Lucas, Danny, Amanda and Christal; and his brother-in-law Eugene Key Sr..

He is survived by: his father David Sr. Hastings; his siblings, Lonnie Hall, Lorie Key, LuAnn Becker, Robin Connor, Hazel Schmidt (Jon Bruns), Debra Curiel, Leroy "Joe" Harkey (Mary) and Curtis Curiel; his children, Trevor, Joseph and Julia; and his fiancée Patti Jo. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
