She was predeceased by: her parents, Vincent Schulting and Viola Schulting (Tranel); her husband Norman Kirch; her sister Shirley Lewis; her siblings-in-law, Virginia Best, Janann Borley, Richard Best and Robert Borley; and her daughter Mary.

She is survived by: her children, Steven Kirch (Janet) of Mountain View, Akansas, Scott Kirch (Beth) of Greendale, WI and Mark Kirch (Jamie) of Christopher, IL; her grandchildren, Tera Oberbroeckling (Steve), Brianne Savasci, Annah Vaassen, Jacob Kirch and Maya Kirch; her great grandchildren, Sam, Trevor, Wil, Owen Oberbroeckling, Asza and Dila Savasci; her brother Merl Schulting (Joyce); and her daughters-in-law, Gretchen Knief (Dan) and Jenny Johnson-Peterson (John).

A Darlene Kirch Memorial Fund has been established in her memory.
