He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Murphy and Lucille Murphy (Knockel); his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Sally Klein; his brothers, Dave and Tom Murphy; and his in-laws, Mike Schmitt, Dennis Donovan, Paul Klein and Eddie Graham.
He is survived by: his wife Penny Klein; his granddaughter Callie Beckley; his siblings, Denise Christopherson (Ron), Deb Schmitt, Dennis Murphy (Lynn) and Dawn Carney (Frank); his in-laws, Karen Murphy, Phyllis Murphy, Amy Schmitt (Jim), Laurie Juran (Rick), Peter Klein (Carmen), Julie Donovan, Tony Klein, Todd Klein (Heidi), David Klein (Amanda) and Kenneth "Chip" Klein (Elsa); his pet Nemo; and his friend Kyle Kutsch. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A wake was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 12:45 PM at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory (2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003). Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (2215 Windsor Ave, Dubuque, IA 52001).
