He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Bartholomue and Irene Elsinger (Miller); his former wife Carol Rose Kluesner; his daughter Susan Hohmann; and his siblings, Cyrenus, Andrew, Frank and Verna.
He is survived by: his friend Lois DeSotel-Burr; his wife Lois Elsinger; his children, Dave Elsinger, Bruce Elsinger (Amie), Jim Elsinger (Pam), Mark Elsinger (April) and Linda Hermon (Pedro); his stepchildren, Gary Burr (Chris), Alan Burr (Tracy), Marcia Bell (Scott) and Brian Burr (Debra); and his siblings, Tom Elsinger (Debbie), Joan Saunders and Lois Davis. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
In recognition for his dedication and fundraising efforts for the Foundation of North American Wild Sheep a Waterhole Project in Arizona was dedicated in his name.
