He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Braun and Irma Braun (Hueftle); and his sister Audrey Braun. He is survived by: his wife Karol Sue Braun (Traut); his children, Jaymie Oehler (Tom) of Omaha and Ryan Carl Braun (Alicia) of Chicago; and his grandsons, Michael, Nathaniel, Hunter and Julien.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Congregational Church of Dubuque or Hospice of Dubuque, who provided compassionate care for him at the end of his life.
