With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Brian Gockel of Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away on November 13, 2022 at the age of 43. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Ann Gockel (Bennett). He is survived by: his father Thomas M. Gockel of East Dubuque, IL; his wife Keri L. Heitkamp; his daughters, Faith and Meredith; his siblings, Lori Hancock (Randy) of Peosta, IA, Steve Gockel (Kim) of East Dubuque, IL and Chris Gockel (Joanne) of Maquoketa, IA; his parents-in-law, Debbie Heitkamp (Sheehan) and Dennis Heitkamp; and his sister-in-law Chelsea Kirschbaum (Spencer) of East Dubuque, IL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, a Brian Gockel Memorial Fund has been established.
