She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Schilling and Christina Schilling; her former spouse Nester Kueter; her husband Richard Ehlers; her son Lynn Kueter; and her son-in-law David Rafoth.

She is survived by: her children, Janie Kueter Rafoth of Asheville, N. C., Kevin Ehlers (Sandy) of Dubuque, IA and Terry Ehlers (Mary) of Dubuque, IA; her daughter-in-law Kathy Kueter of Dubuque; and her brothers, Russell Schilling (Joan) of Dubuque, IA and Lester Schilling of Burlington, IA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Bernice Ehlers memorial fund to be donated to her favorite charities.
