She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Koenig and Margaret Koenig (Link); her husband Wayne L. Maro of Mary's Catholic Church; her sister Judith Koenig; and her parents-in-law, Lawrence and Delores Maro.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Blum (Gordy), Carol Knockel (Joseph), Dan Maro (Karen), Deanna Riniker (Jeff), Carla Gilles (Scott) and Mary Maro-Sanchez (Isaac); and her grandchildren, Tyler Knockel (Gabby Kane-Langel), Michelle Spear (Ryan), Jenna Knockel, Katie Knockel-Kohn (Dalton), Zachary Blum (Riza), Ashley Maro (Zach), Emily Maro, Madeline, Emma Gilles, Austin Riniker, Jameson and Willow Maro-Sanchez.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory (2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Anita's name.
