She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Klein and Sally Klein (Whitfield); her brother Paul Klein; her father-in-law Richard Schmitt; and her in-laws, Dennis Donovan, Dan Murphy and Wayne Schmitt.
She is survived by: her husband Jim Schmitt; her sons, Jesse Schmitt (Michelle) of Dubuque and Brian Schmitt of Chicago; her grandsons, Colton and Nathan Schmitt; her siblings, Laurie Juran (Rick), Penny Murphy, Peter Klein (Carmen), Julie Donovan, Tony Klein, Todd Klein (Heidi), David Klein (Amanda) and Kenneth "Chip" Klein (Elsa); her mother-in-law Lucy Schmitt; and her in-laws, Lynne Wolf (Mark), Sharon Wolf (Tom) and Lee Schmitt (Carrie Merrick). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Church (1700 Lincoln Ave, Dubuque, IA 52001).
