It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Carter of Drakesville, Iowa, born in Burlington, Iowa, who passed away on March 5, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Henry E. Carter and Lois Ilene McCullough Carter; his sister Karen Schurman; and his siblings-in-law, Craig Vestal and Melissa Jones.

He is survived by : his wife Tammie Carter; his children, Jeremy Jones of Drakesville, Ticia Carter of Kirksville, Thomas Carter (Toni Ann) of Los Angeles, Timothy Carter of Kirksville, April Thomas (Justin) of Centerville, Jessica Stalzer (Danny Jellison) of Seymour and Bobby Wireman (Sara) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren, Keely Carter, Corwin Thomas, Michael Thomas, Jeslyn Sindelar, Logan Wallace, Lillian Wireman, Brayden Wireman, Landon Stalzer, Maliki Wireman, Aedan Wallace, Dominick DeNoble Carter, Sabrina Thomas and Brenda Thomas; his niece Molly Airhart (Nick); his parents-in-law, Helen Slawson and Larry Jones (Jane); his siblings-in-law, Shaylon Vestal, Darcie Moore (Aaron), Kellie Anderson (Dave) and John Schurman; his uncle Franklin McCullough; and his aunts, Cleo Hanssens and Glenice Roberts. He is also survived by his family and friends.
