Duane Gates Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Duane Gates (Douds, Iowa), who passed away on January 27, 2020 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Gates and Lula Schleeter Gates; and his siblings, Ruth Plowman, Clarence "Bud" Gates and Frances Tedrow.
He is survived by: his wife Dixie Knecht; his children, Diana Williams (Jamie) of Ottumwa, Debbie Gates of Winnemucca, Randy Gates (Elizabeth) of Douds and Teresa Burkhalter (Brent) of Keosauqua, Iowa; his grandsons, Sky Armstrong, Kenny Burkhalter (Macayla), Cullin Gates and Colton Gates; his great grandchildren, Logan and Chloe Burkhalter; his stepgrandsons, Adam Burkhalter (Lisa) and Michael Burkhalter (Courtney); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Keaton and Kelsey Burkhalter; and his sister Irene Topping of Keosauqua, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
