He is survived by: his wife Julie Malherek; his daughters, Anna, Molly Ortiz (Germán) and Eva; his grandchildren, Lucia, Alexander of Germany, Anna Boyer (Blake) and Brea of Kansas City, MO; and his sisters, Shirley Senden (Tom) of Mankato, MN, Mary Murray (Bruce) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Carol Westscott of Tucson, AZ and Darlene Riley (Bernie) of Chaska, MN..

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Fallen Lineman Foundation, as a way to honor Tom's 36 years as a lineman.
