He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Emerson and Emma "Chris" Emerson (Meiners); and his siblings-in-law, Sandra Emerson and Mike Hart. He is survived by: his wife Janice Emerson of Dorchester; his children, Angel Shawda (Jon) of Urbandale, IA, Matthew Emerson (Jessica) of Eitzen, MN and James Emerson (Melynda) of Ames, IA; and his siblings, James "Joe" Emerson (Mary) of Waterville, IA, Alice Lynne Hart of Florida and Diane Thompson (Tracy) of Forest City, IA.. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
