He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Andersen and Esther Andersen (Thuesen). He is survived by: his son Eric (Darla); his wife Carol; his daughters, Julie Andersen (Steve Greb) and Sara VanVlack (Tom); his grandchildren, Corey VanVlack (Beth), Bri VanVlack, Kyle Andersen and Megan McDonald (Chance); his great grandchildren, Laila, Lennon VanVlack, Cash and Maesen McDonald; and his siblings, Dennis Andersen (Sandra), Edwin Andersen (Barbara) and Marilyn Gift (William). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family.

While Alzheimer's Disease deprived Arlan of many of his memories in his final years, he continued to have a sweet, generous, and kind spirit.
