He was predeceased by: his father Robert Thornburg; and his niece Lindsey Thornburg. He is survived by: his mother Ruth Thornburg of Waukee; his siblings, Will Thornburg (Pam) of Aubrey, Texas and Tonja Harler of Key West, Florida; his stepmother Judy Thornburg of Earlville, Illinois; his stepsiblings, Scott Donovan (Sheila) of Morris, Illinois and Traci Carino (Jim) of Earlville, Illinois; his nephews, Wesley Harler (Tiffany) of Faulkner, T. J. Hale (James) of Omaha and Jayme Thornburg (Kinbur) of Little Elm, Texas.; and his great-nephew Daniel Thornburg of Aubrey.
