It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Verlin M. Fleagle of Dewitt, Iowa, born in Fairfield, Iowa, who passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Everett and Alice Irene Fleagle (Briggs); his siblings, Frank and Iona; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Fleagle and Sue Fleagle.

He is survived by: his brother Norman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the family, to be used for a scholarship for the advancement of science education that will be established in Vern's name.
