He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Rands and Clara Rands (Sadler); his son Scott Rands; his sister Sara; and his brother-in-law Harold Meggers.
He is survived by: his former wife Barbara; his daughter Melissa Rands; his son-in-law Bartholomew Phillips of Roseville, Minnesota; and his grandchildren, Carter Rands and Vivienne Phillips. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
