He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Dunkin and Grace Dunkin (Burkert); and his siblings, Rolla and Sondra. He is survived by: his wife Carole Morris; his children, Dannielle Meister (Matt) of Davenport, IA and Scott Dunkin (Tammy) of Davenport, IA; his grandchildren, Kory Meister (Kayla), Kala McCall (Luke) and Allison Hausman (Marcus); his great grandchildren, Eli Smith, Callie Smith, Kyah Hausman and Jameson Meister; and his siblings, George Dunkin and Carol Philbrick.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 299 or Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
