We are sad to announce that on August 15, 2020, at the age of 73, Merle Ocken of Dewitt, Iowa, born in Templeton, Iowa passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Merle Ocken to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Ocken and Mary Ocken (Baumhover); his siblings, Lawrence Ocken, Lavonne Ocken, Leonette Irlbeck, Joleen Irlbeck and Ronald Ocken; and his parents-in-law, William and Arlene Scranton.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ann Scranton; his sons, Andrew (Ann Ocken) and Jeffrey (Bethany Ocken); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew Ocken, Lydia and Marian Ocken; his siblings, Alice Rupiper (Wayne) of Roselle, Janice Wolterman (Harlan) of Bellevue and Robert Ocken (Lynn) of Cedar Rapids; and his brother-in-law Keith Irlbeck (Diane) of Northfield, Minnesota. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests that contributions be made to the LincolnWay Foundation, DeWitt Public Library or the tree fund at Springbook Country Club.
