He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Fier and Clara Fier (Holdgrafer); his wife Darlene Schulte; his brothers, Joe (Eunice), Larry (Arlene), Robert and Art; and his brother-in-law Edward Berthel.
He is survived by: his children, Mark (Tina) of DeWitt, Mike (Judy) of Winterset, Julie Flammang (Mike) of Grand Mound, Marty of Charlotte and Jodie Fier of Parkview; his sister Marie Berthel of Bellevue; and his sisters-in-law, Pearl Fier of Annapolis and Gretchen Fier of Berkley, California. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
