He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wilbert Riedesel and Berniece Riedesel (Bender); his wife Jane Grell; his children, Janelle Goldensoph (Wayne) of Davenport, John Riedesel, Jr. of DeWitt, Julie Ayer (Kerry) of Wheatland, Juanita Witt (Steve) of Charlotte, Jolene Schaefer (Robert) of Goose Lake, Joel Riedesel (Jean) of Spencer, Jennifer McDermott (Richard) of Channahon, Janice Murphy (Michael) of Long Grove, Jessica Mask (Shawn) of Bettendorf, Jason Riedesel (Jayne) of Grand Mound and Jill Riedesel of Davenport; and his siblings, Will Ried, Barbara Griep (Jerry), Aletha and Marilyn.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
