He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Otto and Alta Mae Griep (Vaughn); and his brother Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Riedesel of Grand Mound; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Griep (Kayleen) of DeWitt, Julia Lieferman (Ryan) of Eldridge, Jamie Bowman (Brandon) of Donahue and RJ Griep (Alyssa) of Kansas City; his great grandchildren, Oliver, Damian, Joslyn and Walter; and his sister Eleanor Kurtz of Clinton.
Alzheimer's disease sometimes changed the details, but smiles and laughter prevailed until his last day Thursday afternoon, May 6, 2021.
