She was predeceased by: her parents, Linley Paarmann and Alma Paarmann (Geffers); her husband John "Jack" Arey; her sister Marilyn Scheeper (Gerhardt); her siblings-in-law, Betty Hill (Donald), Joy Schmidt, Robert Arey and James Green; and her grandson Luther Alfred Arey.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Arey (Sandy Bailey) of Cordova, Todd Arey (Carol) of Farmington, Darin Arey of DeWitt and Angela Bates (Bane) of Gilson, Illinois; her grandchildren, Brianna Martin (Ben), Brett Arey (Heather), Benjamin Arey, Jessica Arey, TJ Arey, Joshua Arey, Hannah Arey, Olivia Bates and Andrew Bates; her great grandchildren, Ambrielle, Cohen Martin, Carter and Hunter Arey; and her sister-in-law Margaret Arey. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church and Central Community Historical Society, both of DeWitt, or the American Diabetes Association.
