David Mackin Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Mackin of Dewitt, Iowa, who passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brother Joseph Daniel; his aunt Esther; and his brothers, Eugene (Orda), Robert (Margaret), Richard, Thomas (Sue) and Jim.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Syslo; his children, Sue Risinger of DeWitt, Christy Ottens (Cory Diehl) of Milledgeville, IL, Bill Mackin (Nancy) of Hiawatha, Cindy Mackin of DeWitt, Theresa Murphy (Greg) of Braidwood, IL, Angie Ocker (Tim) of Gilbert, AZ and Jim Mackin (Kristina) of Gilbert, AZ; his grandchildren, Andy Risinger (Abby), Sarah Risinger (Nate McFee), Amanda Meyer (Cody), Cecilia Ottens (Sean Wise), Kyle Ottens (Meg Litwiller), Samantha Mackin (Bradley Whitener), Calvin Mackin (Emily Czotter), Alex Mackin (Emma Barthelme), Spencer Strnad (Caitlyn Flanagan), Hunter Strnad (Lindsay Wide), Mikayla Cummard (Cory), Madison Murphy, Zack Ocker (Patience), Emma Gonzales (Jesse), Ben Ocker (Emily Ossentjuk), Hanna Ocker, Timmy Ocker, Josh Ocker (Nakita Green), Johnny Mackin and Danny Mackin; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Jensen, Bryar, Hailey, Landrie, Avery, Ryan, Hazel, Evelyn, Coral, Remi, Quincy and Micah; his sister-in-law Madonna Mackin; and his daughter Bonnie Aiken Grigsby. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Open House.
