He was predeceased by: his parents, Hartzell Stickrod and Calla Stickrod (Haber); his wife Carolyn Mattison; and his son Jeffrey. He is survived by: his children, Jay Stickrod (Ronna) of Rock Island, Jacqueline Nelson (Jim) of Princeton and Joan Yost (Bryan) of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Jayson Stickrod (Elise), Stefanie Stickrod (Mathew Worthen), Justin Stickrod, Jeremy Marple (Jessica), Jeffrey Marple, Kyle Marple, Taylor Yost and Gibson Yost; and his close friend Donna Determan. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
