He was predeceased by: his parents, Coda Carnes and Donnie Carnes; his former wife Judith Ann Palmer (Olson); his wife Judy; and his siblings, Viola, Jeannette, James, Charles, Jay, Gary, Dallas and Otis Carnes.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Kendrick, Julie McGarry (Matt), Carl Carnes Jr. (Kelly), Leann Larsen (Doug), Brenda Palmer, Jeff Palmer and Mike Palmer; his cousin Evy; and his aunt Myrtle. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
