He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Rupe and Anna Lou Dacken; and his siblings, Rebecca Barton of Des Moines, Jerry Messer of Minnesota and Jim Messer of Virginia.
He is survived by: his wife Linda; his son Ronald Roy (Rae) of Grove; his stepchildren, Mark, Cindy and Darin Schreck of Des Moines; and his brothers, Larry Klein of Arizona and Steven Meade of South Carolina. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Contributions can be made to the family or one of the organizations that Ron loved: Wounded Warrior Project or Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to which he made 20 years' worth of donations.
