Ronald Griffey Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Griffey Sr. of Des Moines, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 22, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrell Griffey and Elsie Cunningham Griffey; his wife Gracia Griffey; his daughter Sharon Streeter; his stepson Mike Powers; and his son-in-law Michael Schuling.
He is survived by: his children, Deb Hoyt (Randy), Desiree Burrows (David), Rhonda Schuling and Ronald Griffey, III (Missy); his stepchildren, Bert Powers (Kandy) and Evonne Brown; his siblings, Janice Kidder (Ralph), Cecilia Wilhelm (Dennis) and Michael George Griffey (Estrella); and his sister-in-law Carolyn Griffey. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Altoona Regular Baptist Church (803 3rd Ave SW, Altoona, IA 50009).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, or Altoona Regular Baptist Church.
