He was predeceased by: his parents, Asalee Edmonds (Durham) and Alex Edmonds (Buddy); his wife Rose Ann; his sister Alice Estes; his daughters, Shakarra Edmonds and Carolyn Armstrong; and his grandchild Alexis Jordan.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Whaley of Arlington, TX, Grace Edmonds Keyes (Milton) of Kent, WA, Margenele Carroll of Des Moines, IA, Nicole Edmonds of Des Moines, IA, Alex Ritchie (Toyoa) of Des Moines, IA, Olajuwon Edmonds of Des Moines, IA and Clifford Meriwether of Denver, CO.; his siblings, Clemell Edmonds (Ruth) of Cotton Plant, AK, Dannese Flennoy of Aurora, IL, Alex Neal (Mary) of Detroit, MI, Larry Purdiman of Little Rock, AK and Elaine Jackson (Joe); and his extended family, Joann Rose, Nate Hart, George Porter, Robert Hawthorne and Albert Hall. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
