He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Murphy and Elizabeth Murphy; his wife Kathleen; his sons, Jason Murphy (Cindy) and David Murphy (Deanna); his grandchildren, Colin, Jenna, Graham and Braden Murphy; his brother Stephen Murphy (Rosie); his nephew Matthew; and his sister Madelyn Murphy.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
