He was predeceased by: his mother Wilda Haygood; his siblings, Will Jr., Herman, Harold, Marvin and Arlinda Lewis; his grandchildren, Hennessy, Jermiah Haygood and Delsean Berry; and his nieces and nephews, Sandra Butts, Emmett Butts II, Donald Haygood II, Mike Brown Jr., Tyrone and Carletta Haygood.
He is survived by: his children, Donella Haygood, Melvin Haygood Jr. (DJ) and Bonita Berry; his grandchildren, Skai, Anthony, Ar'Keavious, Teondrae, Teondrane, Odyssey and Shamarie; his adoptive daughter MarQuaisha; his great grandchild Iyla Haygood (Pooty); and his siblings, Ann Brown, Dorothy Butts and Donald Haygood I. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
