He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmo Eugene McCormick and Virgilla Lawler McCormick; his brothers, John (Betty Jo) and Jim; and his son Ryan.
He is survived by: his wife Victoria L. Herring; his children, Marcia (John O'Connell), Michael (Amy), Paul and Katharine (Rakesh Kumar); and his brother Richard McCormick (Mary Pat). He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dunn-Iles Funeral Home (2121 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50312). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church (1230 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines, IA 50311).
