She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Beecher and Mary Ellen Young (Ashert); her spouse Henderson Asher Porter; her son William H. Porter; her grandson Matthew C. Cook; her brother Thomas Young; and her nephew Kent Young.

She is survived by: her daughters, Dianne Pankowski (Terry) of Omaha, NE and Janet Porter of Urbandale; her grandchildren, Tanya Vannausdle, Abby Giampolo (Nick) and Nicholas Porter (Chelsea); and her great grandchildren, Bryce, William, Eden, Addie, Charlotte, Francesca and Palmer. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 23rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (4114 Allison Ave, Des Moines, IA 50310). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
