She is survived by: her husband Rick McMillen of Des Moines; her sons, Devin McMillen of Grinell and Conner McMillen of Augusta, GA; her stepdaughter Erin Wilcox (Clint) of Truro; her grandchildren, Aya, Shae McMillen and Adley Wilcox; and her brother Daniel Bostwick (Patricia) of Connersville, IN..

Visitation was held on Sunday, September 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Soderstrum Funeral Home - Story City (618 Lafayette Ave, Story City, IA 50248). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 30th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:10 AM at the St. Petri Lutheran Church (804 Grand Ave, Story City, IA 50248). A burial was held on Monday, September 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Branson Cemetery.

“I’m shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Linda McMillen. My deep sympathies to her family here in Des Moines. My late beloved wife, Andrea Hauer, and I discovered Linda’s business, “Talk to the Animals Pet Sitting,” over 10 years ago. She and her staff provided loving care and company to our cats and eased our anxiety with written updates whenever we had to be out of town, be it business travel or vacations.
