The memory of Kathy Evans (Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on March 1, 2025 at the age of 82, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vaughn McCarty and Jeanette McCarty; her husband Kenny Bright; her grandson Nick Hildreth; her son-in-law Terry Beavers; her brothers, Patrick McCarty and Timothy McCarty; her brother-in-law Jerry Wellner; and her close friend Marilyn Conn.
She is survived by: her children, Jeff Lehman (Loreta), Tim West, David West (Mae) and Lori Beavers; her siblings, David McCarty (Diane), Billy McCarty (Euwanna), Michael McCarty, Nadine Wellner and Cherie Bancroft (Gary); and her former husband Lon Evans. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens (121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery (1 NE 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313).
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa or the Billy Graham Evangelical Association in loving memory of Kathy Evans.
