It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathryn (Kathy) J. Hansen (Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan Thompson and Lucille Thompson; and her grandson Sam Bunz. She is survived by: her husband Dick Hansen; her children, Robert Hansen, Susan Bunz, Mary Stephens (Bill) and Dave Hansen (Janel); her grandchildren, Ellie, Emma Bunz, Malorie, Luke Stephens, Katie LaFramboise (Ty), Ben and Anna Hansen; and her sister Virginia Outland.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer society, in honor of her grandson Sam, or to The Alzheimer's Association, to work towards a cure for the disease that so significantly impacted her life.
