It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen Markely (Des Moines, Iowa), born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, who passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd White and Freda White (Miller); her husband Charlie Markey; and her siblings, Bernard Larson, Richard Larson, Julius White, Lloyd White, Jr. and Irene Green (White).
She is survived by: her sons, John Zeka (Laura Hewitt) of Grimes, Todd Zeka of Des Moines and Matthew Zeka (Jenny) of Indian Land; her stepsons, Cale Markley (Chrissy), Casey Law (Christina), Brian Law, Michael Mortenson (Angela) and Kristopher Mortenson (Liz); her granddaughters, Karmen Zeka (Nicholas Norwood), Salem, Quinn, Harper and Sawyer Zeka; her stepgrandchildren, Caden, Reagan, Rylee Markley, Devyn Mortenson, Hannah, Isaiah, Nattalie and Steven Mortenson; her great grandchildren, Tatum Zeka and Bentley Zeka; her siblings, Bob White (Karolyn), LaVonne Keyser and Sharon Koppold (Ace); and her sister-in-law Joyce White (Julius). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at the Iles Grandview Park Chapel Iles Grandview Park Chapel (3211 Hubbell Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317).
