She was predeceased by: her father Gerald "Jerry" Sorensen; her grandson Grayson Lee Hellekson; her brother Terry Sorensen; her brother-in-law Kurt Mee; her great-niece Willow Tabert; and her grandmother Loretta Mussigman.
She is survived by: her mother Elizabeth "Betty" Mellor (Johnston) of Ocala, Florida; her grandchildren, Remi Gray Hellekson and Rowen Marie Hellekson; her husband Bob Mericle of Ankeny, Iowa; her children, Tyler Mericle (Jenn) of Ames, Brooke Mericle of Des Moines and Sydney Mericle of Ankeny, Iowa; and her siblings, Sandra Oleson (Pat) of Mitchell, Laurie Marr (Rick) of Ocala, Shelly Mee of Buckeye, Arizona and Steve Sorensen of Thailand. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the House (4761 E 46th St, Des Moines, IA 50317).
