He was predeceased by: his parents, James D. Sandon and Opal E. Sandon (Keeney); his wife Mary; his daughter Carol Sams; and his siblings, Audrey, Richard and James.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Thomas (Wayne), Steve Sandon (Kristy) and Mark Sandon (Debbie). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Iles Grandview Park Chapel (3211 Hubbell Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 12:30 PM at 1 NE 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313.
