We bid farewell to Ida Mims of Des Moines, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 22, 2024 at the age of 88. Ida touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Daniels and Doretha Daniels (Johnson); her sister LoVella Brown; and her sons-in-law, Nathaniel Morris and Tony Cooper.
She is survived by: her children, Phyllis Allen-Morris, Beverly Ellis-Cooper, Frederick "Bubba" Green and Garry Ellis; her grandchildren, Adaryll Allen-Davis, Dawaune Ellis (Ashley), Nicole Marie Carter, Jeneta Banks and Nicole Paulsen (Joseph); her siblings, Ben Daniels and Minette Berry; her aunts, Essie Warren and Mae Smith; her niece Renee Lomas; and her nephews, Ray Lomas III and Rory Lomas (Barb).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Union Baptist Church (1200 McCormick St, Des Moines, IA 50316). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
