He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Ellwanger and Christina Ellwanger; his grandson Blake Peterson; his son-in-law Bruce Peterson; and his siblings, Johnny Ellwanger, Eleanor Ellwanger, Henry Ellwanger, Harold Ellwanger, Cora Ellwanger and Marvin Ellwanger.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Stapp; his children, Dan Ellwanger, Scott Ellwanger, Kim Crocker (Steve), James Ellwanger (Melinda), Jan Jeske (Jeff) and LeAnn Peterson; his grandchildren, Steve Crocker, Katie Smith (Josiah), Miles Peterson (Sara), Miranda De Young (Austin), Jess Ellwanger, Afton Jeske and Joshua Jeske; his great grandchildren, Malachi Letic, Mika Letic, Levi De Young, Titus Peterson, Case Peterson, Evie Smith, Julian Smith and Rev De Young; and his siblings, Dora Sinner (Jim) and Billy Ellwanger.
