She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmira Durden Garland (Almaran) and Addison Garland; her husband Hughes Boston (Boston) of Boston's Clean Car Service; her siblings, Emma Jensen, Melvin and Calvin Garland; and her children, Russell F. Johnson Jr., Roverta L. Butts and Beverly J. Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Rosalie E. Davis, Billie M. Jackson and Doran D. Thomas of Des Moines, Iowa; her great grandchild Breonna Oakley Jackson; and her friend Eleanor Turnbull. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Moines Philadelphia Seventh Day Adventist Church (1639 Garfield Ave, Des Moines, IA 50316). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM.
