He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean McDonald and Lorene McDonald (Zimmerman); and his grandson Andrew Cole McDonald. He is survived by: his wife Corliss McDonald of Des Moines; his children, Neil McDonald (Julia) of Des Moines and Amy O'Brien (Josh) of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Jake, Connor, Riley O'Brien and Bella McDonald (Noah Fopma); his sister Judy Skay of Washington; and his nephews, Alan Skay (Lisa) of Washington and Dan Skay (Lynette) of Colorado.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Westover Funeral Home (6337 Hickman Rd, Des Moines, IA 50322). A reception will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location.
