We are sad to announce that on January 13, 2025, at the age of 80, Cherie LaVon Brightman (Des Moines, Iowa), born in Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Forbus M. Shepard and Alliene V. Shepard (Flight); her granddaughter Brianna Brightman; and her sisters, Barbara and Patsy.
She is survived by: her husband Roger "Bill" Brightman; her children, Ben (Joanna) and Barbie DeHeer (Paul); her grandchildren, Matt, Megan, Beth and Simone; and her sister Jeannie Phillips (Richard).
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Grace Church (4200 E 25th St, Des Moines, IA 50317). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Altoona Cemetery (Altoona, IA).
