Carl Dean Minor Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Carl Dean 'Rick' Minor. Rick, age 64, left us on May 28, 2024. He will be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for his music and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Harold, and Marjorie Minor, survivors include his Sisters Jacquline Van Manen and Martha Hunt, and his Nephews, Scott Hunt and Harold Edward Hunt. Rick was a devoted Christian and a talented musician. His song catalog surpassed most music libraries. He was a cherished uncle, a loyal friend, and a dedicated member of the Iowa music community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will gather to celebrate Rick's life on June 18th from 5 PM to 6:30 PM at the YMCA Supportive Housing Facility at 2 SW9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50309. This memorial service is a time for us to remember Rick and the impact he had on our lives. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to YMCA Supportive Housing or YMCA of Greater Des Moines.
